It can be mounted Horizontally or Vertically. It should be mounted firmly with the screws provided though.

It really needs to be attached to the wall for more stability. We attached ours to the side of our cabinet next to the recycling bin

Can this can crusher be used table-top, or does it have to be mounted to the wall?

No plastic, all stamped metal parts except handle grip. If you are a gorilla or do not pull straight down, I suppose you can bend the arms and jam it. I've owned mine for 4 years and crushed over $300.00 worth of aluminum cans, (scrap value), without any problems.

There are no plastic parts. The handle is rubber and the side leavers are very weak. They bent and they do not straighten out very well.

Yes but had to compress cans side just a little. Regular size pop can is fit snug. Also must have tab down.

No. The larger cans must be reduced in size to fit in the crusher.

We have used it for cans the size of large energy drinks. For anything too tall we just hand crush until it fits. This is the best can crushed we have found.

Cans larger than 12 ounce dont work with this unit.

No. However the ease of use on 12 oz cans compensates for lack of large cans. I just crush the large ones with my foot. And I try to buy only the smaller cans when I can.

we have teens and friends who drink all kinds of drinks in a can so we really needed this crusher it do what it suppose todo crush cans,it not that solid but kind of cheaply made but for the price it well worth the buy

it a great can crusher

A good design and well-made for the price. I mounted it on a wall in our attached garage and it crushes cans with little effort.

However, as designed, it only crushes them to about 1". I wanted the cans crushed a bit smaller than that. So, I made a 1/4" shim from a leftover roofing shingle and installed it to the base (with duct tape purchased at Wal Mart, of course). That raises the can a bit higher into the chute which means the ram will contact the can sooner and subsequently crush the can to a lower profile.

With that minor modification I can now crush cans down to about 1/2". That means I get more of 'em into the 44 gallon contractors bag. Which, it turn, means more $$ in my pocket when I take 'em to the recycling center. And then I can go buy some more aluminum cans filled with various liquids that the family & I proceed to empty and crush.

In fact, for us, this can crusher has become the key part of a karmic cycle of empty, crush, recycle, purchase... empty, crush, recycle, purchase... etc., etc., etc. You get the picture.

Anyway, bottom line - a good product sold at a good price, plus it'll tone your forearms. Just remember to alternate 'em.

Well made and it will crush cans

Crushes cans to 1 inch as described, and it certainly cut down the space all those cans took. However if you want to crush "Monster" cans youll have to crush those with your foot because only your standard size cans will fit. I definitely recommend this for people who crush cans alot!

Just what i needed

This works exceptionally well. My husband and I generate lots of cans his beer cans and my diet pepsi cans. He went through 4 garbage bags full of cans and he loves the ease of using this can crusher. You would think I bought him a new toy. He is impressed with the construction and durability of this product. I am so glad that I bought it. We have had no problems whatsoever in attaching it to the wall and we have crushed oodles of cans.

This is the fourth aluminum can crusher I have purchased. I had a difficult time locating them. Once I found that WalMart had what I needed, I was thrilled. They work great. Thanks for carrying this necessary item.

The best aluminum can crusher I have found.

I just mounted my can crusher today on my screened in back porch today. The can crusher did everything I expected. Not too sure about how long the rivits in the handle will last, but hey, they can alwys be replaced. The ideal way to crush the cans, slightly squeeze the can just a little bit and it will crush the cans like a hot knife through butter. Some review stated it did not crush the can very flat. I found if you take 2 crushed cans and place them back in the crusher you can crush them even flatter. I crushed about 3 24pk of coke cans in less than 5 minutes. Just remember, it's LESS than $20. How long does $20 last now days? If it breaks, I'll just buy another one. It may last through the summer, it may break next week. Right now it's working as expected. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to make a couple extra bucks with cans.

CRUSHER

I had to search for this particular crusher to replace a plastic one similar to it which I had had for years but finally broke. This one is made of painted stamped steel and it's finish is nice, if that matters. I haven't had it long but I doubt that it will be as durable as the plastic one I had. The vertical strength of the stamped steel handle is good but it's lateral strength is questionable and the foam rubber pad on the grip is laughably thin and inadequate. That said, the crusher works well and, unlike many others on the market, is compact enough to mount on a door jamb and a not be in the way. For the price, I don't think you can beat it.

Nice crusher for the money

We use it aluminum cans and works great.Make sure you screw it into a stud!Only thing I didn't like was the handle grip is squishy, so after a few uses it breaks down and gets twisted up from raising the handle up and down.Other than that does what it's made for as far as aluminum cans go!

Does a great job

This can crusher just works ok. It's a little bit wobbly and will shoot the can out if you don't line it up correctly. It doesn't have a nice sturdy feel for crushing a can. But if you line the can up correctly, it crushes it pretty well. You can't beat the price and Walmart was great with cheap shipping.

This pruduct could use a overhaul with better metal in its construction it bent within the first couple of uses. it has very weak metal for the joints that bend in wich allows it to crush the cans
